Life can be busy, unpredictable, and challenging. We may not be able to change everything, but we can always take a few steps toward an easier life. Use productivity hacks, find new ways of organizing things, and ponder how you want to fit into the world. You could make life simpler – or at least feel more straightforward with a few small adjustments here and there.

Figure out your life goals
This, without a doubt, is the biggest and most challenging step you can take towards simplifying your life, but the most important. Once you know what you want out of life, you can take measures to get you towards that point. You don’t have to bee too specific here just yet – after all, you can’t plan your life out in detail – but having a few goals in mind to work toward can be helpful. Maybe it is that you would like to become a parent at some point, or start your own business?
Connect with people with similar beliefs
While it is important to ensure that we do not limit our social interactions to people with the same belief systems as us, it is also important that whatever our beliefs – whether religious, political, or ideological – we have the support system of likeminded people. For example, the DTSS leader has a group for people to discuss their thoughts on particular subjects.
Become a doer
How often have you put off doing something until later because it just seemed too tough to do there and then, or because you couldn’t be bothered? A lot, probably. If you can kick that habit to the curb, you will be well on your way to a simpler and more content life. Many worries can be attached to procrastination, so when something needs doing – do it. Start with your mail – as soon as you open it, take action. If you can deal with it there and then do it – call the person, make the appointment, pay the bill.
Be realistic
Many of our problems stem from trying to cram too many things into a day. There seems to be some sort of medal attached to being superhuman, where actually, we could all do with looking at our lives and taking some time to see what is necessary and what is realistic. We all only have twenty-four hours in a day, and in that time, we need to eat, sleep, and carry out basic human functions. What else you fit into the day needs to be prioritized.
Take time for self-care
We have talked about prioritizing, and self-care should be something that everyone makes time for in their day. Whether that is the iconic hot bath with candles and book, or going for a walk in your favorite place to clear your mind, making sure that you do something for you as often as possible is essential for a happy and simple life.
These are only starting points towards creating a simpler life for yourself, but even just by putting these tips into practice, you will soon see a difference.
